Jake turned 28 on the 22nd! Can I get a CRAZY!!!! ;) This year I wanted to do something a little different. We're on a tight budget this year due to us buying a house soon so I wanted him to know I still cared with a small budget. The week of his birthday I left him a sweet love note every day that I printed off (thanks pinterest) and left them in random spots for him to find.

Day One: You are my better half, plain and simple. I left him a note explaining that he will be receiving a love note every day along with some lovey dovey stuff I won't share haha and a half piece of some red velvet cake.

Day two: I love you more than sugar. Gave him some good sugary favorites :)

Day Three: You make the grass a little bit greener. His favorite greens :)

Day Four: BFF Best friends forever, You.Me.Together. This day I left him two to throw him off. I left two chapstick's on the bed after I left for work.

Day Four: I'd be so blue without you. Left him a new blue scrubber and his favorite SNAKE peel Axe body wash haha (snake for Jake ;)

Day Five: You make boring fun. Surprised him with this little box on his desk, inside was two tickets to the movie that night. Someone was THRILLED!

Day Six: You are the butter and salt to my popcorn. Red Box night with of course popcorn :)

Day Seven (His birthday): Orange you glad we found each other? His favorite treat that comes in an orange bag along with his birthday gift.

I surprised him with some Go Kart racing right by his work. Jake always talks about this place. We were actually the only ones so we got the whole track to ourselves which was fun, and after enjoyed some dinner.

Even though the treats were so simple it was so fun to see him run in and show me what he got (like it was a mystery who left him treats haha) I loved getting random texts letting me know he found a treat. Birthdays are fun now being married, I get more excited to make him feel important than anything and that's how it should be. Happy Birthday love!

Jake asked me the other day if we still had a blog! I think I'm still the owner of this blog?!

I've been absolutely TERRIBLE at taking pictures which is super funny because I always use to be great at taking pictures but something happened. We've done loads of things and yet I never pull out my camera (I need to fix this right away)

I suppose life happens though!

Cute story: Jake's mom made all of his siblings darling little teddy stockings when he was young so his Christmas stocking is really special. I have always wanted to make one to match him and figured 'one day' I'll do it. Well Jenna made JC one one night and so I joined in! I finished with the help of his mom on Christmas Eve night just before Santa stopped by. Now we match!

When life slows down..

Is when I tell myself I will actually get in to blogging. We've been staying super busy but a fun kind of busy! We are moving next week which is always crazy fun, we are that much closer to finding our house! We have lot's of fun events coming up but before these past ones slip my mind I thought I'd better get them put up!

Jake and I went golfing with my Dad, little brother Darren and his buddy Ryan. Only Darren ended up leaving with a golf ball size (haha super funny) bump on his forehead. At the end of September Jake and I finally went on our little Anniversary Getaway (about time right?) we headed to beautiful Midway to stay at The Homestead which never fails to be nothing but amazing! The leaves were all changing which was beautiful! We went on a little train ride and had planned to do a zip-line that they offer BUT, it rained the night before so the trails to get to the top to do it was not safe so they had to cancel it. Bummer!

Either way we had a blast! Life is good!!

The month of May has so far treated us well! We got another little nephew! Baby Dylan so sweet and so tiny! We had Jake's annual work party which never disappoints especially when you leave $75.00 richer ;)
We've visited the SL temple and the Draper. Bike rides, Drive In movie and spending time with our friends Dustin and Jess! Shout out to Jess!!! :)

Easter Weekend

The Easter bunny found us... I was worried since we don't have kids maybe the bunny would skip us, but nobody worry.... we were left with some candy and some new clothes so we can look our best at church. (Thanks to all my lady friends for helping me with my search for new dresses, it was a success)

On Sunday we had Easter dinner with my family and colored some eggs

Saturday we had a Buhler Easter egg hunt for the little ones and the big kids :)

We left with the 2nd place title and a gift card to In-N-Out

Reba & George

How often does not only one but TWO amazing country singers (and my favorite) join as one??! Not often enough! When I heard Reba was coming I just about died! I love Reba, and I have loved her music growing up. In fact I use to say that my big huge bangs were done just like Reba!

Last Saturday I joined my sister-in-law Jenna along with my in-laws to this amazing concert we've been counting down to for months (no exaggeration on that one) the concert was a huge success!

I secretly had high hopes that Reba would want to meet me. I mean I know her music, I inherited her bangs and I love her show "Reba" if you haven't ever watched it DVR it you'll die of laughter. Jake made fun of me at first for always watching it and if you ask him now.... he too loves the show. Oh Barbara Jean is absolutely hilarious!

Anyway Reba and George sang all my most favorite songs! I was a little bit sad at first when Reba was done singing and I quickly turned to Jenna stating my sadness that she didn't sing "Fancy" but Reba read my mind and the next thing you know she's coming out in a yellow taxi and dressed in a red glitter dress! She didn't let me down, that was the highlight of my night (well could've been better if she did a shout out to me or even called me to come get my back stage passes so she could finally meet me) better luck next year?! The little things

Since I tell myself monthly I need to keep a journal and do about a week-two weeks worth and forget all about even having a journal I decided I better get much MUCH better at blogging (I think I say that to myself all the time) My mind never seems to remember all the little things.

As previous post states, we celebrated 3 years of marital bliss! Though the weekend didn't go as planned we still had such a special weekend simply being together. Cheesy? Yes! True? Definitely!

We planned to stay at The Homestead as we did for our first anniversary since we really enjoyed our stay. We thought we had booked the same room but turned out the room was a small room. Comparable to a storage closet (no joke) compared to our last room we had, this was a huge let down... so we got a credit on our account that has to be used in 6 months. I guess we'll "have" to take a trip this summer!

We ended up stopping at the Park City Outlets for some shopping. Saturday we went out to The Roof and walked around the temple grounds to reminisce 3 years ago! I'll save all the lovey dovey stuff and just say that I absolutely love Jake I still get super excited when I get to see him after a long day at work and my most favorite weekends are the ones we spend being together. He's truly my best friend!

(I just realized this picture's coloring turned out funny, looks like we just got out of the tanning bed but really I changed the setting on the camera to night scene apparently that gives you a tan)

I have 6 weeks left of school which comes down to 3 chapters of homework and 3 more tests! Can I say this has been hard?! Math is not my strong subject never has and never will but I'm okay with that. Knowing that spring is here makes school feel like it's close to coming to an end which makes me super excited! Now I just have to decide if I want to take summer off or just plow through it and get down?Sometimes I don't even want to finish but I know it's going to be worth all the hard work.

Lastly I had to share this funny picture. This is how I spent The Bachelor Finale on a comfy couch with all my favorite dog lovers! I don't really want to talk about The Bachelor I have some mixed and unresolved feelings about the whole thing. Maybe that's why shows like that just aren't the best shows to get sucked into. Let's be honest though I'll be watching again... I clearly have a problem!

Last weekend was spent with The Buhler's at Lava Hot Springs! This was my first time going and I must say I loved it! Nothing beats soaking in the hot springs on a cold wintery night! We ate at the most delicious pizza place, went bowling, Jenna and I went sledding while the boys went snowboarding/skiing and we all played games. Nice relaxing weekend!

Twenty-Four

I love celebrating my birthday not so much that I'm getting older (that's sure a down side) but more so I love having one day to myself! I love hearing from old friends and feeling extra special that they still remember my special day after all these years. I love hearing my phone beep with a text and the phone ringing for one day non stop. I love hearing from all my awesome friends and family. I love that my mom and dad both call starting out with "24 years ago my little princess was placed in my arms" Most of all I love that Jake makes every year 10x extra special than the last one. My birthday has become so much better with him in it. I still can't believe that we celebrated my 24th birthday I swear I just turned 20 and met him. Where did these extra 4 years come from? Either way I love that I get to celebrate my birthdays with such an amazing guy he definitely made this one a memorable one!

Okay I lied started the day with a piece of pie because I figured it's my birthday why not, than we went to a movie, Jake surprised me with a gift card for shopping and one of my favorites for dinner Red Lobster

Birthday dessert was my most favorite Cake batter ice cream with brownies, fudge and lots of sprinkles

Everyones sweet gifts: Lot's of flowers, balloons, sweet cards, gift certificates, George Strait and Reba tickets April 2nd YAY, gift card for a spa facial, Reba dollar bill, new watch, scarf, lotions and cupcakes from the neighbors

Jake surprised me at dinner with a pearl ring it's a cute story: Months ago I was showing Jake how much I love pearl accessories and one day I'd love to have a real pearl ring one day meaning down the road. While out for dinner at Red Lobster he told me to check the tip to see what I thought, I opened it up and immediately recognized the box it looked just like the one when he proposed. I opened it up and I just started crying, I couldn't believe he remembered I said that I wanted one. This gift for sure topped off the whole night! A couple from across from us were ooing and awing at us, pretty sure they thought we just got engage.

I want to be much better and making healthy foods that are quick and easy. Going to school 2 nights a week and spending other nights studying make it completely hard to stay on schedule for eating healthy.

*I made some Snickerdoodle cookies for the Super bowl last night, let's just say I may have been too rushed and something went very wrong through this process.. how does one mess up cookies? I did and Jake laughed.

His Birthday

This past weekend we celebrated Jake's 27th birthday!

Birthdays are so fun to me, having one day just for you!

Well Jake's birthday turned into a 3 day event, that's how special he is!

Friday- Dinner with The Buhler family at Moki's Hawaiian Grill followed by dessert.

Saturday (actual birthday)- we spent just the two of us: Reese's peanut butter pancakes for Breakfast (serious give it a try yummy) and we spent the evening at The Gateway. Went to a movie, shopped and ended with California Pizza Kitchen.

Sunday- Celebrating with my Family, Jake chose breakfast for dinner so my mom made a breakfast pie very delicious and we ended with gifts and peanut butter ice cream dessert.

Merry Christmas

We spent Christmas at home this year usually we spend the night at my parents but we decided to change it up this year! It's been so much fun with every new year keeping traditions alive that I grew up with and what Jake grew up with. We spent Christmas Eve with both families and opened some gifts, later came home to enjoy a big mug of hot chocolate with loads of marshmallows on top and spent the rest of the night watching Christmas movies. Woke up the next morning to Santa's gifts and stockings stuffed!!

Earlier this month we went to the Salt Lake Temple with our friends Jess and Colby to do some temple sealings and to walk around to enjoy the lights. It's a must every year! I love the feeling of being at the temple around Christmas.

I think we disappointed Santa this year with our lack of cute stockings. We bought some two years ago and pretty sure we just have them packed in a box somewhere. Maybe one day we'll find them? Either way he still filled them up!!

I think the best Christmas gift was that Jake and I got to spend this past week off which was very needed. We did a lot of little fun things together which consisted of eating at The Pizza Factory, spending time with family, attending a Jazz game and lots of movies and spending a couple days in our PJ's. I got sick halfway through this time off which was horrible but Jake deserves husband award he took good care of me!

And last but certainly not least we bought a NEW CAR! Hallelujah!! Jake had to say goodbye to ol' mustang which was a sad day ha!

Got ourselves an SUV so that I wont have panic attacks when it snows anymore. Plus how cute will it be to get my babies out of this thing? Aww

Happy New Year to everyone!! I cannot believe it's a new year still but Jake and I came up with 11 big goals set this year some of the following include:

1. Running a couple races together this summer

2. Shalise is finishing up school

3. Watching all Harry Potter movies in a row together (Jake doesn't get what's going on)

4. Attending the temple every month

5. Selling our condo

6. Finding a home

7. Booking a vacation

8. Teaching little May to do a backflip

9. Jake a half marathon (Shalise will be cheering)

10. Take more pictures

11. Be much better at documenting our life!

Halloween was an absolute blast this year we started some Halloween fun earlier that week. My little brother and his buddies love carving pumpkins so they invited Jake and I over to carve with them (maybe more like Jake was invited cause my little brother thinks the world of him) ;)

Missing You

On the 15th we said goodbye to my sweet Grandpa Constantino. This man has got to be the most humble man around, he was always so full of life. When I was a little girl every time he told me a story I knew that every story would start out "When I was a boy..". He loved to paint and collect little treasures to put throughout his house. Grandpa had some rough trials thrown his way BUT he never let it get him down, or at least he'd NEVER let anyone know and put a smile right on his face.

He had a rough childhood lost his dad when he was very young, lost his left leg while playing on the train tracks when he was only 11 years old, lost his wife (when my mom was only 8 years old) raised 4 children, lost his son in a motorcycle accident (Uncle Scotti was only 26) lost his eye due to cancer that was found way too late and had to remove his entire eye. This sweet man was still ALWAYS smiling!

A couple weeks before he passed the Doctor's could not figure out what was wrong with him. He had a bloated stomach and was in a lot of pain. They did many blood tests and CT scans. Two days before they found he had liver cancer, told my parents they give him maybe a week if that.

Friday morning 2:00 a.m my Dad called to let me know he didn't make it through the night, my heart sunk only knowing that at 10:00 I was going to go visit him. I went with my parents to see him one last time, and I'm sure to most people it would be a little creepy but really it was more peaceful than anything. He fought a hard battle and was in a lot of pain. He finally looked relieved and calm. It was a hard day and it broke my heart to watch my mom talking to him but I'm really glad I was there to see him.

I think these pictures here explain very well my most favorite memory of him-

On our wedding day after we came out of the temple I heard my mom asking my Aunt "Where is Grandpa and the kids?!" My Aunt kept calling trying to find out where they were. As soon as my Aunt called they were already walking in we all turned to see him with my cousins walking as fast as Grandpa can go. This picture brings tears to my eyes every time I see it I'm so glad our photographer caught it. Just look at how happy he is.

He simply said to me "Dolly, your breathtaking. Sorry I'm late I was polishing my eye so I'd look good for the pictures and didn't realize I was running late"

I miss him already it's hard to think he's gone.

He adored my Grandma Kathleen so I'm glad he's with her again. I feel blessed knowing he's with my babies watching over them probably starting a story with "When I was a boy...."

We miss you Grandpa.

Fall time

This whole summer Jake and I have been on a hunt to find 2 beach cruiser's for both of us. We found the perfect pink one for me but we called 20 minutes too late. We found this baby blue one on ksl for only 50 bucks and its practically brand new! So I'm using the blue one for now! We decided to take advantage of this great weather and take off for a picnic and bike ride a couple weeks ago to test it out... I love it! I suggest everyone gets one :)

Little May wanted to join our adventure and I haven't found a basket yet for my bike so we had to find some other way for her to join....

And yes she LOVED it!

For conference weekend we took off with The Buhler's on a 4-wheeling adventure! Perfect time to go, all of the leaves were beautiful!

We made it to Big Rock Candy Mountain! Jake, Jenna and myself thought maybe there would be a fountain of peanut butter or some sort of delicious candy apart of it.. but this is all we got. Maybe it's chocolate?!!

I think the scenery was the most amazing thing to see..

Always fun spending time with our family, yummy food, and I was introduced to Rummikub and I even won one time! :)

About two weeks ago Jake came home from work to find water outside our front door. After further inspection he found pockets forming on our ceiling just above our TV. We learned that a Condo on the other side of our unit was flooding with water. Let me say that at least WE had the LEAST of the water damage in the building. A man from the water damage came to our condo narrowing down where the water was which seemed to be just our ceiling and a little bit leaked to the floor. Well that little leak made it so we had to remove half of our wall and ceiling. The little leak to the floor ended up with the whole floor coming out. The insurance wanted us to just find new flooring so they didn't have to try and match it and because we also bought it on closeout they wouldn't be able to find an exact match. The only good news is we decided to remove the tile we had at the door and the insurance paid for nicer flooring so it's thicker and we went darker which we absolutely love 10x more. I pray we will never end up remodeling this place ever again!

The Lord knew exactly what he was doing when he paired Jake and I!

From the stress of renting our place out that turned into a nightmare to the process of getting her out. To a long 3 months of remodeling our condo and spending money we thought was saved for our house. To having to remove everything we put in 5 months ago. During this whole process I think it was extremely hard on us, it was like we were in a game and we both were trying to find the restart button.

When Jake was really upset I was there to put a smile on his face and told him nothing but positive things. When I was upset having a meltdown and tears streaming down my face (which happened alot) Jake was there to make me smile and had nothing but positive things to say and hands to wipe my tears away. It's amazing how we NEVER had a moment that we both were negative or upset, it was always one or the other.

He knew that we'd have these bumps along our road together and this won't be the last. He knew that together we'd be okay and that we could help each other. He knew that we simply needed each other.

And for this I'm forever grateful that he blessed me to have Jake in my life!

A week of no labor

Cannot believe that this one week I was looking forward to having off all summer has now come and gone just like that. To celebrate this time off together we attended Swiss Days, Lake Powell and had our last picnic for the summer... Yep I'm officially sad!

Meet The Ricks

There's just something about weddings I just love, even more so when it's someone getting married who is near and dear to me! My beautiful cousin Anna was married this past Saturday and boy was it a P-A-R-T-Y our family was altogether from Idaho, Portland to Alaska! They had the wedding downtown at the Oasis Cafe which the food was so delicious, if you're wanting to try something new I highly recommend going everyone was raving about their food!

I absolutely adore my cousin Anna! She's one of those people who's happiness is so contagious you can't help but feel incredibly happy after being with her. She is always so interested in your life so full of love and never forgets anything you tell her, she makes you feel like a million bucks! Who wouldn't love her!!

I love the emotions you have at weddings, the love you witness that they share!

Summer Lovin'

Summer never seems to last long enough! Below are some pictures compiled over the last 3 months. I'm terrible my last post of summer fun was back at the beginning of June yikes! I like to think that it's been such a packed but very fun summer as my excuse of never blogging. I'm really trying to keep up on the blog so I can print it off and make it into a book just like many of you do! So here's to another very long post....

In June we had a Buhler family reunion we surprised everyone with our talent show! Everyone thought we didn't have anything prepared but boy were they wrong... The Buhler Bunch

We brought out our artistic side this past month.. Jake was cutting up watermelon and my my was he taking FOREVER... now I know why..

He made a watermelon hat!! Never a dull moment being married to Jake! I love it!

We made some birthday plates while we were dating and when we moved into our place they broke from moving.. so we finally got around to making knew ones!

There not all done we're waiting to pick them up! Jake's turned out awesome everyone was looking at it. I highly suggest going there it's called Color Me Mine... so much fun!

Lastly this month we wanted to go out just the two of us. Went to the famous La Caille.. not to eat just to walk around there Gardens! But... little did we know nor did the lady tell us on the phone.. you HAVE to eat there to walk the gardens. So since we went all that way we just got dessert which was pricy but so yummy it's beautiful there!

Totally worth it but I was terrified this thing was going to attack me while having our dessert on the patio! They were walking around everywhere!

It's been a great summer and we're lovin it! :)

Epic Battle as told by jake

I apologize in advance for two things. 1, after reading this you might be embarassed to say you and I are friends.... and 2- for the quality of some of these pictures, they are copies of copies so the sizing and quality did not turn out so well.

I have recently gotten really into running. I love it and hate it all at the same time. Earlier this month I ran in a race out in Riverton with the Men in my family.... I originally had thought my brother Jason would be my Rival in this race since we had been competing against eachother for all of our lives. But as you will soon learn from reading further on, I was about to engage in the fight of my life- against a new competitor who became not just a new rival, but a nemesis. The following is a detailed tale of the events from July 3, 2010... a day I will never forget.....

2 racers........... 1 road............

one was a patriotic 12 year old girl with hair just as Fiery as her competitive spirit.... running on hopes and dreams....

the other? mid twenties male thirsty for victory- and hungry for glory....

the battle rages on for 6 long hard miles...... He led the entire race, and thought he had it in the bag.... but was he ever so wrong. In the last mile, with the finish line in the distance..... He told himself, this is it.. just another jog in the park, you can do it- Right then, before he made his last push, a bright flair of bright pink and red skimmed past him on the side. It looked like a Comet in a skirt, It was her.

How could this be??? all hope was almost lost in that moment... but then he realized. I cant let her beat me. He thought of his family waiting for him at the finish line, and the looks on their faces with him finishing after her. But how could he catch her now? the small girl was gaining speed and getting even smaller in the distance as she pulled ahead...." I cant catch up, this is Crazy!" he thought... Just then, the next song on his Ipod started, Ozzy Osborne's Crazy Train, and now instead of thinking this is crazy, he knew it was crazy.... Crazy enough it might just work......

AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! with all the energy he had left he made his last sprint. As they rounded the corner they were neck and neck..... family, friends and fans were on either side cheering loudly.... but he didn't hear them. he could only hear the sound of size 4 pink running shoes slapping the pavement next to him.

As they approached the finish line side by side time almost stood still....seconds felt like hours..... he felt as if he were jogging in place on a treadmill .... he wasn't just racing for 1st or 2nd place now , but realized the actual position he just put himself in-

"either face the shame of losing to a 80lb 6th grader.... or be known as "the guy" who was a jerk and passed this little girl as she was about to finish, just to crush her hopes and possibly make her give up on running all together"

"It would be so easy to just give her a friendly little nudge" he thought.....

But Jake knew better than that- too many witnesses.....so much to decide in so little time......

quite the moral dilemma, but he knew what he must do.........

"Go home and play with your Barbie! " he yelled as he lunged forward and crossed the finish line split seconds in front of her. IN YO FACE! BUUUUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Knowing she had lost..... and her spirit now broken...... the little girl wiped a tear from her eye and thought, "maybe dad will take me out for ice cream" ... She didn't stay for the awards, free drinks, nor the prize drawing.... she just put her head down, and did the walk of shame across the parking lot back to her bike....

The long overdue post!! I've been trying forever to put this together and it's taken me forever to finally finish so here we are:

I will try to keep it short {TRY}.. for those who don't know 2010 did NOT start off how I imagined it! Last July 2009 Jake and I wanted to save a little money for the purchase of our first home! We decided to rent out our condo and move back to my parents basement for only 6 months. We found a sweet {at the time} lady who was really not doing well health wise, she was older and sounded just perfect over the phone she didn't live here so we did a lot of talking over the phone. Well she moved in and we thought life was great! She signed a contract saying she would be the only person living there, she could have a dog {no cats, Jake's allergic} no smoking and when the payment was due! Welp..... this blew up right in our face! Her son lived there with his partner without us knowing, she had a cat that lived inside, smoked like a chimney and payment was the most hardest thing to recieve she was just MIA when it was due and would never answer the door when we went by {even though we could here them inside} they had to be out by January 1st but she said she could not be out by than with all sorts of silly reasons as to why, they lied a lot to us! So we evicted her and we hadn't seen our place for those 6 months! We went with Jake's parents to change the locks and when we walked in, we were blown away. Somedays I wish I took pictures to show how HORRIBLE and trashed our place was but now I'm glad I didn't probably for the best not to remember. It stunk so bad from all the smoke. Some examples: our blinds were hung with bandaids, fire-alarm detached for smoking, huge water bottle full of cigarettes, cigarette burn in our bathroom counter, cat liter and puke on carpet, ruined carpet with black stains, candle wax thrown on the wall, holes in the bedroom wall. We had to paint the entire place from top to bottom with a special paint to kill the smoke in the walls between everyone who helped we hated it.. it was so strong it looked like you had been crying cause your eyes hurt SO BAD!

After we finally got them out and cleaned their junk up the remodeling began! It took about 3 months every weekend was spent there. Jake's dad is amazing he helped us save a ton of money he's Mr. Handyman we're so grateful for him, he was there every weekend! We love him! This is what we did:

-new carpet
-new wood floors
-new baseboards throughout the whole place
-new countertop
-new paint
-white outlets/lights
-built extenstion
-moved cabinets up
-new toliet {I have germ issues}
-bulit extra closet space
-moved bathroom outlet/light
-seriously everything is fresh and new

Just so you can see the difference here is what our condo looked like before they moved in and now remodeled. Um ya I cannot believe how much junk and how cluttered it looked. BIG CHANGE!

On our 2 year anniversary our carpet arrived! The one day of 3 months we did not work on the condo, we stopped by to check it out before we celebrated :)

Our brother in law Chris came to take professional pictures of our condo so that we could put it up for sell... so here is how it looks all moved in. Very simple but it feels SO clean and SO roomy all our colors are very neutral! We love how it turned out!

Everyone told us they liked our mixed color of creme and brown so we did the same thing only we kept it a lot lighter than before!

Memorial weekend Jake and I left for a couple days which was very needed! We thought we deserved a little getaway after school was over and since we got our condo all remodeled it was definitely time for just the two of us!! We did everything out in the sun! Lot's of shopping, swimming and site seeing! We now seriously want to move there! One man told us in the winter times there you only need a sweater in the morning but come afternoon it's warm! My kind of weather!!!

I had to show how cute.. we got to our hotel and as I was getting ready to go out Jake was organizing our stuff! Everything in perfect order! :)

My favorite part- We drove to Vegas to see the Las Vegas temple which I must say is my new favorite! It's BEAUTIFUL! Inside and out!! I wish I could visit often!

We made a couple stops on the strip to eat at Cheesecake factory thanks to my boss! We both haven't been for years and I wouldn't mind not going again. Children should not be allowed on the strip that place is gross! But we did get a lot of interesting people watching in!!

Very fun to get away just the two of us!! Now we're going to save all my work bonus' so that we can take a nice trip later this year!! :)

I'm thinking about setting our blog private! I've had a couple weird comments left on our blog that I removed and some random people following it that I do not know! I've had a couple friends the past couple weeks that have also had some comments that are disturbing so I think it's much safer! I hate to do it!!

I made this apron for my mom for Mother's Day by her request! I'm very very VERY proud of it! It only took me 2 days to finally put it all together and I only had to redo the frill around it once, poked myself a ton with needles in my fingers and legs! But hey anything for mom right!! :) She loved it!

I've also made some pillows! We both were bored with the old red and brown ones so I decided to pick out my own fabric and cover them up! I left the back nicely open so we can change them very easy! I'd like to make some more! So easy! (Click picture to enlarge)

We are cheesy! Celebrated 3 years from our very first date in April, and yes we did reenact the whole night! :)

Jake passed his EMT course and Maylee and I made him a poster as a surprise for him when he came home, we love him!!

Jake's work does a nice dinner/awards dinner every year! This was an awesome one! Jake was awarded Employee of the YEAR and we won a gift card which makes life awesome!

I wanted to document this moment.. Jake makes this impossible! After a dozen times of trying to get him to be serious this is all I ended up with! ha ha ha love him!

HAPPY!!
Is it just me or do you just feel like your in a much better mood when spring hits?! Spring is my favorite! Perfect weather, I can pull out my summer clothes, school ends for the summer, vacations and I love to see all the flowers in full bloom!! I HATE the cold I HATE winter period! I feel sad during the winter months because let's face it who wouldn't rather be outside having fun! Today I was off of work and I had the best day off! I got to be with Jake during his lunch break and after I headed to my parents house with my pup. I spent the rest of the day with my dad, he too was off today. We made a yummy lunch, pulled out the patio set and soaked in the sun! Pure happiness for me!

I love these tree's I wish they lasted the whole summer!!

YAY for spring!! Jake has 3 days of school left! This makes me one very happy wife! I've missed seeing him at night!! Hope everyone is enjoying this lovely weather! :)

Easter Spaghetti Feast

I really enjoyed having Easter and conference the same weekend this year! We took off Friday to the Zermatt Resort in Midway to the Easter Spaghetti Feast! SO MUCH FUN! We took my little brother and his buddy Ryan so we didn't look like the only people without kids! ha ha! They had tons of different pasta's to eat! After we ate yummy food we decorated eggs and face painting! I was a little bummed cause I wanted to stay for the next morning they were having pancakes and an Easter egg hunt, but I'm glad we didn't because they canceled it due to 6 inches of snow! Yikes!!

Okay funny story: While in line for face painting they have a board up showing different face paintings you can do! The little boys went first all choosing something on the board. I was up next and picked the bunny look. Jake was next and we were all excited to see what he wanted! The girl said she can do whatever he wants. So if you know Jake all serious he sit's down and says "I want a mustache"

Up next two different people were trying to see who paints better so he had them both paint one of his eyelids and this is what he ended up with! Kinda freaky! I was laughing really hard!!

We had a lady take this picture for us and she asked Jake to look at it to see if it turned out Jake simply replied "Oh um.. my eyes are closed" ha ha ha ha never a dull moment with him!! :)

Today marks 2 years!

2 years with my best friend by my side!

I can't believe it is already our anniversary again that just FLEW. 2 years ago we were married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. It was the greatest day ever. Marrying Jake is definitely the best choice I have ever made in my life. He makes my life easier and I just love him! I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband. He is smart, funny, loyal, adventurous, ambitious, loving and absolutely handsome. He's the most positive and patient man I have ever met! Definitely my other half!

Jake thanks for making this the best 2 years of my life!

The month of love

February has been one month packed with lot's going on! I thought I'd better post before the month is over!! We've been incredibly busy, every weekend is spent remodeling our Condo. We're almost done with it almost there... we've taken pictures before and I'll take the after one's when we're all finished and I'll post them! But for now here's what we've been up to:

Super bowl with my family. Loads of yummy food.

I turned the BIG 23. I woke up to a couple of vases full of tulips I immediately felt spoiled and then went to grab a towel before I hit the shower and opened the bathroom closet to my most favorite snacks. He knows me oh so well!

I only worked for the morning which was nice, my work spoiled me with cookies, lunch and cute cards I got 2 gift cards for dinner and one for shopping. My adorable mom and dad brought me some flowers, balloon and a box of chocolates with a cute card to my work that morning! Thanks mom and dad!!

That night Jake took me to see Dear John.. loved the book disappointed in the movie!! After went to the Olive Garden (my most favorite) and took some desert home! I got to open my gifts which were some new clothes YIPEE!!

Celebrated the February birthdays with the Buhler's. My awesome sister in law made this way awesome vest for me. She knows me so well ;) Thanks Jenna!! ha ha

On lovers Day Jake was in charge this year. Totally surprised me with a couples massage along with dinner and a movie. With some ice cream after!!

In honor of Valentine's day I am doing a little tribute to my Valentine.

10 things I love about Jacob:

5- He listens to me rant, rave and ramble about work, friends, church, family, celebrity gossip, fears, frustrations and everything I go on about and he just listens

2- He works hard every day to support our future family

1- He's always on the floor playing with our niece and nephew... I cannot wait to have kids of our own he'll be one great daddy!

These are just a few of the things I love. I am grateful to have such a fabulous companion. I love you babe!

One of my resolutions is to be more Grateful. I thought I'd start sharing 3 things:

1. I get to go see Dear John for my birthday tomorrow with the Hubby (mainly just to spend the night with him)

2. I only work a couple hours tomorrow

Last Friday was my most FAVORITE day not only was it Jake's birthday but it was a day we both didn't work with nothing to do ALL day long. And we both needed it! I don't see much of him lately!

got up and made some breakfast
went to look at a new camera
picked up some In-N-Out for lunch
drove to bountiful to finally turn in our proof for our wedding album it only took how long? ha
picked up my wedding dress that's been waiting for me
laughed a ton
took a nap
went out for dinner with his family
had cake and ice cream
let the birthday boy finally open his gifts
and then got back in bed and we watched a movie

it honestly was the most fun i've had in a long time just being together all day.

I'm really sad I didn't get many pictures but our camera was on it's last day of life and we were just looking for a new one but didn't find the right one in time :( but here's what we got.

I got Jake 2 new pairs of basketball shorts that I think he very much needed and lot's of new socks. If you've seen the bottom of his socks you'd agree!

My family celebrated his birthday on Sunday. She makes us our favorite dinner and Jake's choice was of coarse breakfast for dinner!!

Carriage ride

Forgot to post one way fun thing we did... a carriage ride with my dad. We had to keep changing the night we wanted to go so my mom got called into work, Derrick and Kayla were already busy and Darren didn't want to go out in the cold ha ha. I haven't gone in a couple years it was a lot of fun! We got to see a lot downtown during the ride. We walked the temple grounds, got hot chocolate and saw the Joseph Smith movie! I think this is going to have to be a new tradition.. hopefully next time my whole family can come :)

Another Christmas has come and gone! It was a good one for us!! Here are some pictures of our Christmas festivities:

We went to see the Reindeer & Christmas lights with our family at Thanksgiving point. Jack drove us :)

We attempted a Gingerbread house.. once at my work party and at my parents. Both failed in the end!

My last day at work a family came visiting for Christmas.. went sledding and the 8 yr. old ran into his Uncle and came into our office as an emergency.. little boy broke off all 4 top teeth and 2 bottom all permanent teeth still coming in... did that stop us from going the next day? No!

Did we hurt ourselves? Yes!

Jake went off a huge jump and hurt his arm.

Darren hurt his bum.

And I... thought I'd be adventurous and go after Jake on a smaller jump and I still cannot sit properly without hurting my tail bone :(

Later that night we went for our traditional Christmas Eve party with The Buhler's! This year my in-laws gave Jake and I money earlier in the month and we were to buy a nice gift and bring it that night to show off what we got!

My sweet husband didn't get anything.. instead he wanted me to have the nice gift and got me a sewing machine! I sure love him!

Well here it is... ha ha! This is what happens when your on your final month of living with your parents and your Christmas tree and all your decorations and other ornaments are all packed away in storage!! I told Jake I still wanted a little tree... and little is just what we got! Our Charlie Brown Christmas tree!!

All of our Christmas shopping is FINALLY done! And now as you can see our gifts are much bigger than our Christmas tree! And no worries this isn't all of them.. 3 more big ones our upstairs under the family tree..guess we needed some room!

Bit by the craft bug

A couple weeks ago my friend Chelsea and I felt a little crafty! We went to the fabric store picked out fabric we wanted.. headed to Walmart and found flat shoes for a couple bucks and made our own styled shoes with the help of this fabulous stuff:

I find myself looking at etsy all the time..but I can't find myself to buy the cute earrings, headbands and flower pins for $15.00 a piece so here's the start of making my own:

It's been awhile since I last posted! Things are fabulous in the Buhler clan! :)

Here are some fun things we've been doing this month:

To start it off about a week ago I came home from work to this gorgeous arrangement of flowers..made my day! I love all the fall colors, he's a good flower picker ha!

We carved pumpkins

First off with The Palmers lot's of fun.. we took a cool picture on Chris' camera with all of our pumpkins lit up. We almost burned down their new apartment ha ha good times! I'll have to get that picture! :)

This here would probably explain as to why we may have almost burned down their place ha ha we forgot candles and you can't just not see your pumpkin all lit up.. so this is what we did instead!

Took a drive to my little brothers football game. I snapped this I thought it was too cute!

Celebrated my brother Derrick's birthday. He brought his dogs Baya and Harvee both way HUGE now! Yep that's my little dog fighting for her life.

Jake and I had lot's of picnics this month in the mountains and a park by my work. This picture shows what happens when you don't have children. We use our pup to do the trick

The week of Labor Day all of us Buhler's took the entire week off and went to Lake Powell! This was my first time going (sad I know) and it sure was fun! Nice weather, no makeup, didn't do my hair just sat on the beach, ate yummy food and relaxed with family.. perfect way to say goodbye to summer

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE horses! Every year when my parents asked me what I wanted for Christmas or my birthday I'd simply respond "every girl needs a pony, I promise I'll take care of it"! But obviously I never got one! So I enjoy any chance I get to be near one. Jake was telling a friend from work about how bad I've been wanting to go riding, so sweet Don took us early Saturday morning on a 4 hour ride! It was BEAUTIFUL we had a blast! My horse's named was Duke and he was crazy, Don told me he's good to his first time riders because he stays behind but catches up real fast! Well I didn't think anything of it until he stopped every 4 seconds to eat grass when all of a sudden we'd be galloping to catch up! He was fast.. I felt like I was in a movie! Loads of fun, but today we finally don't feel sore anymore- after our ride we couldn't walk straight! After talking with Don and hearing how expensive it is to raise a horse.. I think I'll stick with just riding and enjoying them! :)

Jake was really excited when he won this- he threw a fastball at 70 mph.... and felt really good about himself... but then was really sad when the next day he was watching the little league world series on tv... and those 12 year olds could throw just as hard haha

It's been awhile since I've posted! Within the last couple weeks we've been trying to live it up with what's left of summer! Friday we went boating all day with Jason, Lindsay and our ADORABLE nephew Jack! Loads of fun and best of all... I got up wake boarding longer than I did last time, but let's just say good thing I have an entire week at Lake Powell coming soon.. hopefully I'll get better :)

We drove all the way up to the Bountiful temple to do a session... and it was CLOSED! So we couldn't leave without a picture ha ha

I was able to attend girls camp for our ward! We hiked Timp Cave which was very neat to see!

My friend Amber I grew up with is having her 2nd little girl next month so we had a shower for her! I made my first diaper cake with the help of my sweet mother in law! I think it turned out fabulous! The baby girls room is going to be a bumble bee theme.

Pioneer Weekend

So here is the weekend in review. And since I am tired, and want to go watch a movie with my gorgeous wife, I am going to do this as fast as possible, and with as few words as needed. So the photos will be narated by me, Jake....

we went to a bees game with Jason, LDZ, and Jacky-boy. After the game Jason took us to see the fire trucks at his station next door.

Pioneer Day started off Bright and Early... I got up at 5 am to drive downtown for my first 10K. It was a lot of fun and I did a lot better than I thought I would. I placed 57th or something like that in my age group and 596 overall I think, out of over 3,000 (this is my reinacting to Shalise how the race went)

Maylee Really wanted to get this Bikini..... But no daughter of mine is going to parade around the pool dressed like this. so we got her a chewy instead.....

Let Freedom Ring

Let me start off by saying "We've been BUSY" this past week we moved out of our Condo! We decided to put up our Condo but couldn't find anyone to buy it for what we were looking for and we sure don't want to loose money on it. So we decided to try putting it back up for rent! Jake found this really nice lady to rent it out. The lady wanted to rent for a couple years but we just did a 6 month agreement since we're NEW at this and we'll see how it goes!

I was REALLY sad at first to leave since this was our first little home together but it's all turned out great and I haven't missed it! We moved in with my parents for about 6 months so that during this time we can save like CRAZY so that we can build/buy our first HOME! YAY! I'm really excited for the next step!

4th of July- Every year we spend the 4th with Jake's side of the family! I really enjoy it! We had yummy food, played games, drank lot's of Root Beer (at least I did) and watched the fireworks! I didn't take too many pictures I think we were just so darn tired from moving all week long! It was definitely a nice time to finally RELAX!

The June Life

So I guess June has pretty much come and gone.. I think time flies even faster once your married! I swear when I was younger summer was longer and now I just blinked and it's July next week! I will say I'm a little sad that summer really has NOT felt like summer with all this rain so let's hope for the best in July! Here's our June recap..

I love this girl! Fabi came over with a cute card for me. She loves Maylee and gave Maylee some treats and had her do tricks! I'm going to miss her she always commented on my jewlery, my hair or my shoes we always talked about our favorite colors and about princesses! My favorite was when I'd get a cool sticker from her each week!

My little bro comes over every Friday to play! It's so fun!

We went camping for Fathers day weekend with the Buhler clan! We were pretty EXCITED to try out our new tent we got from our wedding and sleeping bags we got from Jake's parents for Christmas. It was really cold the first night and rained the next day like crazy so we decided to sleep inside the camper! We had lot's of YUMMY food but it rained non-stop :(

It started hailing like crazy and Maylee didn't know what to do. She kept running away to find shelter ha ha ha

Spring Time Love..

One of my good friends has been married for 5 years now and every year when they hit their anniversary they get some pictures done.. Sounds kinda silly but she has a collage throughout the years of their pictures hanging in her house and it's honestly the coolest thing I have ever seen! It shows how much they have changed as the years go by and the last one they had done shows off a new addition that just joined them.. their baby girl!! So I finally listened to her and thought since I love pictures we'll do it! So I hope each spring we can get some nice photo's done of us so that I can have a cool collage like hers! I wish I had a picture of it it's really neat to see!

I got an e-mail from our wedding photographer that he was doing a spring special for all his past families and brides a session with him for $19.99 which is an AMAZING deal because he is one pricey photographer!! His session are WAY out of my price range I was lucky my parents said yes to booking him to take our wedding photo's... so I of course jumped right on that offer.. obviously he took MANY photo's and I like a lot of them but It's expensive to buy them... so here are my top 4 Fav's and also I had to scan them to put them on the computer so that's why they may not look like the best quality!! Hopefully we'll buy some more to put on!!

Well we did it... we made it through the first year... and I can honestly say I'm more in LOVE! We had such a good Anniversary weekend I was just glad to get away from work and school and pretty much life to just spend time alone and relax together!

I sent this to Jake's work the day before our anniversary I thought flowers would be too cheesy ha ha but he sure loved it and the cookies were delicious!

That afternoon we planned to go to the Salt Lake Temple and do temple sealing's.

After enjoying the Temple we headed to Midway where we stayed for 3 days at The Homestead I highly suggest going there. They were so good to us and it's SO cute and cozy!

We ended up not taking our cake to do the lovely tradition everyone does so we ended up eating it on St. Patty's day along with our GREEN dinner I asked Jake on my way to work what he wanted and he said "Green Pancakes" his wish was my command we also had GREEN eggs looked so nasty but it was delicious. I couldn't find my shamrock cutters for our pancakes so Easter came early if you can tell it's a baby chick

Marriage is a world of change, but I truly believe the connection that you share as a sealed couple is one that is truly unmatchable. Nobody makes me laugh harder or makes me feel the way Jake does. Anyone that knows Jake will agree with me that he is a character and a half! Not to mention he is an absolutely AMAZING husband all I ever dreamed my husband would be I find in Jake and I find I only love him more every day! We look forward to an amazing future taking each day as it comes and not stressing the small stuff Jake's made me really realize to live each day to the fullest ..... Here's to many more amazing years!!!!

365 DAYS...

One Year Ago Today we became Mr. & Mrs. Buhler

More changed that day than just my last name. I knew from that day forward my life would never be the same. I had found my soulmate and I finally understood what it felt like to be head over heels truly madly deeply in love and I have been falling ever since.

I still can't believe we have now been married for a year, seems like just yesterday I was trying on dresses with my mom although I feel like Jake and I have been through a lifetime together! I appreciate all the ups and downs, the laughter and tears, and the sweet lessons learned this past year

Happy Birthday to our Wedding Day! You turned ONE year old today!

I love you so much babe! I am excited for our future and I look forward to an eternity of happiness with you.

Baby Blanket

I finished my first "big girl project" I made our new nephew Jack a baby blanket although I was not finished when he arrived into the world I finished now! I searched every store to find this cute fireman fabric! I thought it would be cute since Jason is a fireman!

I thought this process of making the blanket was really fun! My mom was there by my side through it all, she taught me a lot! It helps to have a mother that sews! My mom is amazing at sewing she made a lot of things I had when I was little all of my dresses are now saved because she made them so I hope to get really good so I can return the favor to my children! I started making a skirt and eventually a dress! It's been a lot of fun!

I have a lot of friends with babies on the way so now that I know what I'm doing I better get started making more! Here is a picture of the finished blanket for Jack! I love how it turned out!

Birthday

Thank you sweet friends and family for the texts, the phone calls, and all the birthday wishes!!! Well I must say this year has been the BEST Birthday I've EVER had and it all is from my incredible Husband! We took a ton of pictures so I tried to post the best ones throughout the last couple weeks of my Birthday celebration! Well I do know that birthdays are much better when your married... On my actual birthday I woke up to some puppy loves from Maylee and some morning kisses and a yummy breakfast from my adorable Hubby! I left to work (BOO) and walked in to see some beautiful tulips on my desk and one hour later some beautiful flowers came from Jake my most favorite flowers!! My desk was looking real good! I got to leave work early which was a plus! We were suppose to go to my parents that night but plans didn't go through so we decided to do that Sunday! Jake took me to see "He's just not that into you" and after to a really yummy dinner at Johnny Carino's mmm and later I had a cute little birthday cake and made a wish!

Jake said he wanted to take me out on Friday! Well we made plans to go to Texas Roadhouse which is my favorite place to eat! I was really EXCITED to go! I got home from work and started to get ready well Jake was playing xbox FOREVER at first I didn't mind then I was getting annoyed little did I know it was all apart of the plan! Jake said we should take our puppy over to my parents so she can play with my little bro. My mom called to tell us the garage opener was broken so come through the front door (I totally fell for all of this)

We get there and Jake makes me walk to the door first...when I opened the door all my family and all of our friend couples were there and jumped out to SURPRISE me! I almost peed my pants at first then I had to hold back the tears! I was SO HAPPY to see all of our friends there! Some were not there due to the long weekend break we missed you guys! :(

That night I realized that not only do we have amazing friends that came to share the night but also I love my husband so much! He does one thing so sweet and then it seems like I turn around to something new! He planned it out for weeks and it turned out to be perfect! Thanks friends for coming and bringing things for the party! We love you all! :D I also was reminded of how much I love my Daddy! Every year my Dad would put out some birthday flowers for me and a Valentines Card with flowers! This year I didn't think he would since I wasn't living at home! When I went over on Sunday my Dad got me gorgeous flowers and the sweetest card that makes me cry every time I read it! I love that man! My mom was so sweet and cute, she came home early on Friday to decorate the house in a Princess theme! Thanks Everyone!!!

I told Jake awhile back I needed to get new scriptures if you could only see my old ones!! My parents and Jake got me a nice new one! I wanted the little snap on the side so my stuff doesn't fall out anymore! And also.... I'm a Buhler! :)

I got a lot of awesome stuff this year! Jake got me a watch I really wanted that you can change the beads to different colors LOVE IT! I got 2 new channel purses for the price of one..only because it was my Birthday the lady let me have it! :) And I got a lot of fun little things along with clothes YAY!!

On Valentine's Day we decided to stay in for the night! We got this cute heart shaped pizza and wings and had a cute and cozy candlelight dinner and watched Fireproof! It's bad acting but I think every married couple should watch that movie!

To end the night.. Jake and I went to see our new nephew Jack! He's so cute and tiny and has little blonde hair! He is one cute baby!

Well this has been one fun month! But I can't WAIT for next month!!! We are leaving to celebrate our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!!! YAY!!!!!!
